Donald Trump has plunged the world into a trade war and the new package of laws called “One Big Beautiful Bill” opens up the possibility for the president to introduce a punitive tax on US subsidiaries of companies headquartered in countries that, according to Trump, pursue an “unfair” tax policy towards the US.
This can hit companies such as DSV - Global Transport and Logistics and A.P. Moller - Maersk. At the Danish logistics company LEMAN which has been doing business in the US for more than 50 years, the matter is being closely monitored.
“It is still early in the process, and many details about the so-called ‘revenge tax’ are still unclear,”says CEO Rene Bach Larsen.
