Mandatory certification of tire products, new regulations implemented!

On December 30, 2024, the State Administration for Market Regulation issued a notice on the implementation rules for mandatory product certification of motor vehicle tires. In order to strengthen the management of mandatory product certification for motor vehicle tires, the State Administration for Market Regulation has revised the relevant implementation rules for mandatory product certification and now issues the "Implementation Rules for Mandatory Product Certification for Motor Vehicle Tires" (CNCA-C12-01:2024), which will be implemented from January 1, 2025. The Implementation Rules for Compulsory Product Certification of Motor Vehicle Tires (CNCA-C12-01:2015) are simultaneously abolished.

The announcement points out that relevant designated certification bodies should formulate corresponding certification implementation rules in accordance with the requirements of the new version of rules and the published mandatory product certification general implementation rules, and file with the National Certification and Accreditation Administration before implementing certification and issuing certificates in accordance with the new version of rules. Starting from January 1, 2025, relevant designated certification bodies shall accept certification commissions in accordance with the new rules. The valid mandatory product certification certificate that has been issued can continue to be used, and the certification certificate conversion work is completed through natural transitions such as expiration renewal, product changes, and standard version changes.
